Amy Belisle

Yarmouth High School

Ranked first in Class of 98, 97 average, 1,250 SAT, Amy Belisle is headed for Bowdoin. Her multiple scholastic honors include: National Honor Society two years; Math Team; French award; Wellesley Book Award, Maine Scholars' Day, English Award, UMO Academic Achievement Award, National Merit Scholar, French National Honor Society, Rotary Service Award, Bausch and Lomb Award, and Science Award.

Amy was similarly distinguished in athletics, in four-year, three-sport career.

She was twice All-Conference and All-State for Yarmouth's two-straight state runner-up Field Hockey Team, Captain her senior season. She was a basketball All-Star as a junior, adding All-State and her second All-Academic hoop selection her senior campaign. A softball All-Star, she also captained the Clippers this spring.

School-community leadership included: Yearbook Editor; Girls' State; Big Sister; President of the Student Council four years; Play in the Street three years; Maine Medical Center volunteer; Youth Ministry, Lector at Sacred Heart Church; ten-year Press Herald Paper Girl.

Our Mission

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
