Education:

Wendy Webster, besides her No. 1 athletic position in a class of 101 seniors at Mattanawcook Academy, has gained high marks as an all-around athlete.

She earned 11 varsity letters in four years of participation in field hockey, basketball, and softball.

Steady improvement and leadership were her hallmarks as she worked up to captain the field hockey and basketball teams her senior seasons and was named the field hockey most valuable player.

A balanced performed, she led her basketball team in rebounds at an 8.8 average and improved her shooting to an excellent 69 percent.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
