Scott is ranked #5 in his class of 92 with a GPA of 97.00. He has been accepted to attend Dartmouth College with an undeclared major. He is the son of Frederick and Beverly Shirrell.

Scott was involved with sports throughout the school years and was named MYP for the Stags in Soccer, Basketball (Captain), and Baseball (Captain). Scott also participated in Indoor Track and was named Runnier of the Meet. Awards include: Soccer All-SMAA; Basketball All-Academic and Senior All-Star; and Baseball (shortstop) All-SMAA and All-State. "Possessing high moral standards and unchallenged integrity, Scott has provided outstanding leadership in all activities, providing an example for others to follow."

Off the playing surfaces Scott is involved with his school, having served as a class officer and as Treasurer of the Key Club for three of the four years as a member. He also was a member of the Ecology Club and was named to the National Honor Society. "Scott is the embodiment of what we like to see in every high school student. He establishes goals, strives for excellence, works diligently, and, above all, he cares for people...He is a young man with the highest integrity who instills trust in his peers and his teachers."

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
