Janelle (Nellie) Beaudry has participated in varsity soccer, nordic Skiing, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, and lacrosse during her four-year career at Deering High School. A co-captain of the 2002 Rams soccer squad and two-time SMAA All-Star, Nellie has started for four years in a very strong Deering program. She has also participated in the Odyssey premier soccer program since 1997 and participated on the Snickers Cup state championship teams in 1999.200 I. and 2002.
As a member of the Deering outdoor track team, she participated on state championship 4 x 800 meter relay teams in 2001 and 2002. Her 2001 relay team set a Class A state championship meet record and went on to finish 8th at the New England Track and Field Championships. Nellie was also been part of the Class A state championship indoor track and field relay squad in 2001.
She has taken a challenging academic program at Deering, and her career average of 95.6 places her 16th out of a class of 304. Nellie has been active in numerous extra-curricular activities, including the Key Club and D-Club. In addition, she has served as a volunteer coach in the Portland Area Youth Soccer Association and worked as a volunteer in the political campaign for a state senator. Nellie plans to attend Hamilton College in the fall and is considering majoring in either chemistry or biology. She is the daughter of Judy and Jeff Beaudry of Portland.

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
