Abigail Spector
Born on October 16, 1980 in Bristol, Connecticut

North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Although 23 now, Abigail started playing golf in Greenville, Maine at age 4. She is a 7 time Maine State Women's Amateur Golf Champion and one-time New England Women's Golf Association champions.

During high school, Ms. Spector was a 4-time State Schoolgirl Golf Champion and State MVP golfer. She was 3-time American Junior Golf Association tournament winner and received the AJGA Honorable Mention All-American. She lettered in 6 Varsity sports (4-golf, 2-indoor track). Abigail was president of the student council and a National Honor Society Member.

She earned a four year golf scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and lettered all four years. She won one National NCAA tournament. Abigail was a communications major, focusing in media studies and inter-organizational communications. All-ACC academics and National Honor Society in major (Lambda Pi Eta). Currently Abigail is recovering from emergency open heart surgery following loss of oxygenated blood to her brain causing loss of strength, coordination, motor skills, memory and vision.

Our Mission

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
