Spencer Eusden

Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School

A three-sport performer at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, Spencer Eusden has participated in soccer, Nordic skiing, and lacrosse during his four years at the school. Spencer served as team captain of the Vikings' boys' soccer team last fall. He earned the Viking Award as the team's Most Valuable Player, and was named to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. For three seasons he has played midfield for the Oxford Hills boys' lacrosse team and was named the squad's most valuable midfieler in 2007.

One of Maine's outstanding schoolboy Nordic skiers, Spencer has particpated in four consecutive state championship meets. During this past winter, he finished third in the state in the freestyle division and fifth in the classical division. Spencer is a two-time All-Conference selection, and participated in the J1 Eastern High School championships, where he was a member of the third place mixed medley relay team. He is a two-time Most Valuable Player for his team, and was named to the Sun Journal All-Area First Team in 2005-2006.

Spencer is a well-rounded student-athlete who is a four-year member of his school's jazz band. He also serves on the advisory board for the Oxford Hills school-based health center. An excellent student, Spencer has a career grade average of 95.336 and ranks twelfth in his graduating class of 289 students.

Spencer has been accepted as an early decision candidate at Bowdoin College in Brunswick and plans to major in the physical or environmental sciences. He also plans to continue his Nordic skiing career in college. He is the son of Dykstra and Lydia Eusden, and resides in South Paris.

Our Mission

The Maine Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1972 for the purpose of: 1) appointing and bestowing recognition awards and scholarships to outstanding Maine high school scholar-athletes; and, 2) to formally honor and memorialize Maine athletes and sports figures who have brought distinction and honor to the state of Maine.
